[…] previously wrote about Deluge being the best bit-torrent client, but for searching for individual media Frostwire suits my needs. […]
GREAAAAAATE!!!!!!!!!!!
[…] Automatix2 install them for you, so you can go back to listening to music that you pirate using Deluge. You might be wondering why I install codecs when Feisty does them for you? Well Feisty is missing […]
The correct download URL is:

Thanks!
Elmer – Thanks for the correction! Seems like they updated their site recently =)
yep! I agree..
Same conclusion as you.. Deluge is the best torrent-client (reliable and fast) for Ubuntu/Gnome environment… 🙂
cheers /
Yes it is a really good program, although i find it hangs after a while (a few hours) and has to be forced to close.
This is a really minor issue and likely to my system (64 bit so libs issue i reckon), but definitely a project that is worth watching, better (i.e. simpler to use / configure) than azreus but enough features to make it a ‘pro’ client.
Big thumbs up.
I’ve found some big problems with this client. The main one being that you cannot force it to re-check files which have been downloaded. I’ve had several instances where nearly completed torrents have failed to load properly on program start, and I was unable to force it to check how much data had already been downloaded, resulting in it wanting to re-downloaded 5+ gigs of data. Not cool.
how to install deluge?
Yes, uTorrent for windows, Deluge for Linux.
I have been making a conscious effort to use linux when I can, for fun more than anything else, and was getting a little frustrated with the bittorrent clients out there. Bittorret is short on features and Azureus was a big fat hog that started crashing when I started it. Deluge is the best choice so far.
Thanks to all of you for the input – the extra comments made the thread really easy to find and your research was EXACTLY what I would have done – but you saved us all the effort.

Thanks! EXACTLY what I was looking for. (our priorities are identical)
Thanks for this, it is very similar to uTorrent and is a whole lot faster than any other bittorrent client I have used on ubuntu as of today. I have been looking for something like this for quite some time now.
Hey, thanks very much. This was very helpful. I was searching for a bittorrent client similar to utorrent for a while now. Deluge is really great
